Pioneer Day

I'm still not used to July 24th being such a big Holiday, but I sure love an excuse to party. We had all of the Haskell's over to our clubhouse for a pool party/BBQ.

After the pool party, Grandma, Grandpa, Ryan, Stacy, Kyle, Bentlee and I headed to the rodeo. A good friend of the Haskell's, Kaycee Fields, happens to be the World Champion bareback rider and it's always fun watching him.

Bentlee loved it the rodeo. She said "horsie" for the first time that night without any prompting from us

Just like every year, our backdrop to the arena was a gorgeous sunset

Perhaps her love of reading started around this time because amidst the chaos she was pretty enthralled in her book

I am aware of the rule that we don't take candy from strangers but since Bentlee practically ripped this licorice from the man behind us,  I figured it was probably safe.

We left the rodeo a little early and used the excuse that we needed to get Bentlee to bed, but she was doing just fine. It was mommy and daddy that were ready for sleep! Until next year, rodeo!
